The Anchorage Provincial Park
The Anchorage Provincial Park on Grand Manan Island, a prosperous and charming island in the Bay of Fundy, has been waiting for you. Discover natural attractions, exciting adventures and breathtaking scenery. With picturesque hiking and cycling trails, you will be able to learn about the geology of the island and the wildlife that resides there. Keep an eye out for the interpretive displays, birdwatching blinds, salmon cages and breaching whales in the nearby ocean. Explore our Red Point Trail boardwalk, which is fully accessible to wheelchairs, or any of our unique "Grand Mananesque" Long Pond, Great Pond or Bagley trails.
Walk on the ocean floor. Find seabird nests, whale-watch, hike the towering heights of a rugged coastline or visit the lighthouses. Experience ocean kayaking, beachcombing, and be sure to bring along your binoculars. The island is well known as a birdwatchers’ paradise with sightings of up to 275 species.

1 - Red Point
A scenic trail along mixed woods with boardwalks and ocean views. Interpretive signage details the route's geological formations.
2 - Long Pond
The main trail along with the side trails to the right take you to bird blinds. Peer through the small windows in the blinds for views on the pond. You might also see a pair of Golden Eyes or other ducks.
3 - Great Pond
A short trail to a duck blind on Great Pond. Continue past the blind and into the bog on the edge of the pond. This section may be wet.
4 - Anchorage Beach
Enjoy the sand and the twisted sedimentary rock cliffs along the beach. At low tide explore the flats in search of snails, clams, barnacles and other sea life.
5 - Ox Head
Travel through the grassy sand dune that separates Great Pond from the beach. Look for ducks in the pond along the way. Make it a loop by returning on the beach.
6 - Bagley
The grassy trail travels through a dead stand of larch before reaching a junction. From the junction a small loop takes you to the edge of the bog along Great Pond.
