Lumberjack Picnics
The Fundy Trail Heritage Cookhouse is built in a replica style to cookhouse buildings of the late 1800s. The Cookhouse would have been one of the most important buildings in a lumbering village, a place where all the men would gather for meals after a hard day of felling trees. On Saturday evenings a social would be held at the Cookhouse with a big, hearty meal and dancing! On long days in the woods felling trees, the lumberjacks would take their lunch into the woods with them in tin pails. Book your lunch pail in advance and set off into the Fundy Trail to find a scenic spot to enjoy your hearty lumberjack feast.
