Hearst Lodge Day Adventure
A recent addition to the Fundy Trail experience is the Hearst Lodge. The lodge, with four bedrooms plus two adjacent cabins, was built as a fishing lodge on a dramatic site above salmon spawning pools on the Big Salmon River by newspaper magnate J. Randolph Hearst. The Hearst Lodge, about 2.8 kilometres from the Interpretive Centre, is accessible on a four-hour guided hike, including lunch, via a scenic footpath along the river. Future plans for the Lodge include offering overnight and weekend facilities as well as wilderness camping trips. A second suspension bridge is being planned to enhance the day and multi-day adventure programs at the Hearst Lodge

A four-hour guided interpretive hike from Big Salmon River Suspension Bridge to the Hearst Lodge... featuring flora, fauna and the history of the Hearst Lodge. Enjoy lunch in the lodge or at a picnic table overlooking the salmon pool.
