Bay of Fundy Spectacular

Spectacular view of Pangburn and Melvin beachesThis unique tour takes you to visit the Fundy Trail, offering views of coastal wilderness stretching as far as the eye can see. The last undeveloped coastline on the Eastern Seaboard.

The Bay of Fundy boasting the worlds highest tides thrill you with breathtaking views of beaches, headlands, vistas, and dramatic plunging cliffs.

A visit to the Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre and learn about life in days-gone-by. Big Salmon River village was an American owned logging community from the end of the19th century until about 1950. The last owner was the Hearst Family. Take a short walk on our Suspension Bridge over Big Salmon River, view its crystal clear waters; watch for salmon.

Drive through the picturesque Village of St. Martins with its two covered bridges and Victorian homes.

Tour Option 1

Suggested start time from Saint John is the same as from Sussex. An unparalleled journey along the coast of the Bay of Fundy, an eco-adventure.... TradeSmart Certified.

  • 9 am: Coach leaves Saint John Hotel for St. Martins via Coastal Route 111 (or this same trip can be made in the afternoon on your trip back from Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. Time frame would be the same.)
  • 10 am: Arrive St. Martins. Stop at the Village of St. Martins Harbour.
    • Photo opportunity to shoot two covered bridges and visit Lighthouse.
    • Visitor Information Centre
  • 10:30 am: Arrive at Fundy Trail Main gate. Step-on Guide
    • Stop #1: Pictures at Melvins Beach Lookout: scenic view of Bay of Fundy and Nova Scotia can be seen in the distance.
    • Stop #2: Parking area for photos of Fuller Falls and the three lookouts overlooking Pangburn Beach and Melvin Beach.
  • 11:15 am: Arrive Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre. Reception and interpretation of murals, artifacts and a video on the history and cultural American owned logging community.
  • 11:45 am: A short walk down the hill to the Big Salmon River Suspension Bridge for an excellent photo opportunity. A look at the Salmon Pools and the 600 Million year old precambrian rocks.
  • 12 Noon: Depart Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre (or continue on to Fundy National Park/Hopewell Rocks, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island).
